November 17 Update
The Texarkana Bowl is official! The schedule below is the general plan but I will update as we go.
READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH CAREFULLY!!!!!
We will rehearse Monday November 21 at the normal time. We will NOT rehearse Wednesday November 23 OR Monday November 28. (There is of course no rehearsal November 25 because that is not a school day.) We WILL rehearse Wednesday November 30 during the normal class time. These rehearsals are required and attendance will be taken. Again, be mindful of the statement from the syllabus that is included below.
This is going to be a great trip. There is a BBQ that the bowl game is putting on Friday night, there will be catered meals before and after the game on December 3 and we are also going to stop at a buffet in Houston on the way back Saturday night. I want to make sure that the band is taken care of and that we have fun. I'm also going to check to see if the buses have TVs, because that would be a good thing.
Thank you everyone for your flexibility. I know people are having to adjust work schedules and other plans, but this is such an important event for the football team, the department, and the University. I appreciate everything that you do for this band and this will be a great way to end the season!
Thanks again.

Hello Pride!
We will likely have a great opportunity to go to a Bowl game and support the football team! It is the Texarkana Bowl on December 3rd. It will be a great way to end our marching season and will be our first trip of this type in three years.
Just know that we would not perform at the La Posada Parade on December 3rd in Kingsville if we end up going to this game. We would be doing the Journey short show, not the Les Mis show.
Also, here is an excerpt from the syllabus:
Post-Season Activities Policy
In the event that Texas A&M University-Kingsville accepts a bowl game invitation or makes the NCAA Division II Playoffs, the regular marching band rehearsal schedule will continue. It is a policy of the TAMUK Marching Band that all members participate in university-sanctioned post-season activities as part of the course requirements, and these events are subject to the grading policies in the syllabus. The director will let you know as early as possible if there is a home playoff game scheduled.
Specific rehearsal information will coming in the next coming days, but we will likely do one full rehearsal at some point and then a short rehearsal on the day before dead day.
Thank you and go Pride!
