About the Pride of South Texas
For many decades, the Javelina Band has truly served as the Pride of South Texas, with countless performances at football games, exhibitions, parades, festivals and other major events. Prized for its big sound, exciting visuals, and longstanding tradition, the band is the largest student organization on campus and performs for the largest audiences of any ensemble in the region. As an educational organization, the Pride of South Texas provides a wealth of leadership, teaching, and organizational opportunities for future music educators, as well as a fantastic musical and social outlet for students of all majors. Students from across campus are encouraged to join
the Pride of South Texas.
