Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Javelina Marching Band. Follow the procedure below to complete your application. Contact Dr. Kihle if you have any questions or email [email protected]

1. Click here for the Leadership Application here and fill it out completely. If you plan on auditioning for more than one position, you only need to complete one application.  All applications are due by Friday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m.  Late applications will not be considered.

Dates of Tryout: Tuesday April 21, 3:30-6:00 p.m.
Thursday April 23, 3:30-6:00 p.m.

2. The score and recording are on the drop down menu next to this page on the website.  Parts will be posted by April 11.
  • Drum Major candidates download the full score.
  • Section leader candidates download parts.  In sections with multiple parts, upload the first part.
  • Drill tech candidates download test drill.

3. Drum Major candidates should memorize the entire piece for the audition and be able to conduct all of the movement from memory.

4. Drill tech candidates should print out the test drill and indicate potential issues, including large step sizes, possible path conflicts, and/or other problems that may need to be addressed in rehearsal.

5. Drill tech candidates will teach a specific concept for 5 minutes; these concepts will be assigned.

6. Anyone interested in being a section leader must go through the interview process.

7. Please know that a new requirement for leadership this year is that anyone who is a drum major or tech will be required to participate in a concert band in the FALL.
