Join the Band!
Fill out the Javelina Marching Band Registration Form to receive information and updates about the 2016 season. Only those who intend to participate in marching band should submit this form.
Once you have registered on this website, your name will be given to the residence halls for early check-in. If you have an apartment, you do not have to stay in the dorms. Know that the room you receive for camp will likely be different than your permanent room for the year, and you will probably have to move after camp is over.
Know that you will also need to register for the class. The class number is MUSI 1127 (for first and second year students). You will register for this class when you register for the rest of your classes.
The show will be available for download June 1st. There will be a password given to you to enable you to download.

The Pride of South Texas is open to all TAMUK students. Any audition is for placement within sections only, not for admittance to the group.
Remaining Leadership Audition Schedule
All auditions are in the music annex. Candidates need only participate on the day their group auditions.
Music Tech Auditions: Tuesday April 19, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Drill Tech Auditions: Thursday April 21, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Wind Section Leader Auditions: Tuesday, April 26th, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Percussion Tech and Section Leader Auditions: Thursday, April 28th, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Music Tech Auditions: Tuesday April 19, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Teaching: music tech candidates will listen to concert band play the audition piece through one time. Each candidate will then have 5-10 minutes to rehearse a section of the music in front of the group. Candidates must email Dr. Kihle for a copy of the score for this piece.
- Interview: this will consist of questions about your background and knowledge of marching band.
Drill Tech Auditions: Thursday April 21, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Teaching: candidates will teach a marching concept to the other candidates. Drill tech candidates will be judged on teaching ability.
- Interview: this will consist of questions about your background and knowledge of marching band.
- Candidates must email Felix Cruz for their teaching assignment.
Wind Section Leader Auditions: Tuesday, April 26th, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Playing: you must be prepared to play through movement one of the show for the interview committee.
- Interview: this will consist of questions about your background and knowledge of marching band.
Percussion Tech and Section Leader Auditions: Thursday, April 28th, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Battery Tech Candidates
- Candidates will be assigned a section of music to teach. Each candidate will have 4 minutes to teach. They will teach the entire line.
- Battery Tech candidates should see Steve Sanchez for the section of the show that they will teach.
- Section Leader Candidates
